Talking IT Management with Phil Simon

I recently spoke with author Phil Simon about what it take to transition corporate IT from a utility shop to a “Breakthrough” IT operation (catchy name, eh?) Along the way we talked about how to manage an enterprise IT organization and its projects, when to throw in the towel, and why IT and HR get no respect from the rest of the company.

You can enjoy the 20 minute podcast here: It is apparently also available via iTunes, but I am one of the 6 people left on the Earth that don’t use that software.

  1. Patrick,

    Though I appreciated to read “B R E A K T H R O U G H I T S u p e r c h a r g i n g O r g a n i z a t i o n a l V a l u e t h r o u g h T e c h n o l o g y” and I agree with the logics I found much of the “to make a good apple pie you need good apples” argumentation but little on how to actually articulate the strategic execution process. Where as not all companies could / nor should they recruit “exceptional talent” that have worked for Accenture I would have liked to find more on how to achieve this objective with existing resources.

Drop me a line would you have the time to sit down for lunch as you pass by Paris.

  2. itunes … what’s that?
